Why Yahoshua, and other names and titles?

The reason i have chosen to use the name and spelling of Yahoshua has been an ongoing discovery. It began several years ago, however, i started to use the names and titles you will see in posts beginning with this post here, “What’s in a name.” i am still learning and evolving in my thought, use, and spelling. The reason i have chosen the spelling of Yahoshua, is explained in this post, “You shall have no other gods, part 2.” More recently i wrote “By the Power of His Name,” which also looks at this idea. Although i use several translations of Scripture, i have become attached to one called, Hallelujah Scriptures, you can check out their page here.

A basic understanding to why i have chosen this path is to honor the names to which Elohim (God) introduced Himself to the world. Also, with the ever increasing use of the title, god, many use today; As well as, the many faiths that call on the name Jesus, i wanted there to be no confusion as to Whom i am referring to when i talk and write about the Creator of the Universe.

Think about this, when you travel abroad do you transliterate your name into the language of the country you are traveling? Do you meet people from another country and call them by a different name than the one they tell you? The honest answer is no, you don’t, well i don’t. Yet, we have done that with the name of YHWH and His Son Yahoshua and we don’t even think about it. Also, who is returning? When Adonai returns to earth and gathers His people what will His name be? Jesus, which didn’t even exist until around 1600 or Yahoshua, the name His earthly parents gave Him based on the Word of Elohim?
